Dr. Mindy Jacobs
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy begins with an evaluation where we explore why you have come to therapy, investigate your personal and family history, determine your needs, and establish personal therapy goals.
During the initial therapy evaluation, I listen and ask questions to give the process direction and structure. As therapy proceeds, I offer feedback and insight based on my experience and expertise as a psychologist. I help patients examine potential patterns in their behavior, understand how your past influences your present, and connect your head to your heart. Individual therapy sessions are each 45 minutes in length.
I have extensive experience in a wide variety of issues, including:
Depression
Anxiety
Situational stress
Grief and loss
Gay and lesbian issues
Work-related issues
Relationship issues
Eating disorders
Post-traumatic stress disorder
Childhood Abuse
Anger management
Alcohol and substance abuse
Individual & Group Therapy
While in Individual Therapy, many patients elect to participate in Group Therapy simultaneously.
